The family of Lea horror crash victim Anthony Butler said it will take time to come to terms with the loss of their beloved son and brother.
Best friends Anthony, 25 and front seat passenger Jack Hamilton, 24, from Ribbleton both died at the scene after the gold Ford Focus Anthony was driving collided with a tree on Lea Lane, Preston at around 4pm on Monday.
Anthony’s father said: “We have tragically lost a much loved son and brother, which we will have to come to terms with over time.
“We would like to pass on our thanks to all those who dealt with the incident and had to deal with such a tragic event.
“This is a life changing tragic event, that all those involved in will need time, support and courage to recover from.”
A 23-year-old back seat passenger was air lifted to Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries including a fractured pelvis and leg injuries.
He is still being treated in hospital and Anthony’s family said they are glad one of his friends survived the tragic accident.
Anthony’s dad said: “We are glad that one of Anthony’s friends survived and will hopefully make a full recovery and we wish him and his family all the best.
“We would also like to pass on our condolences to Jack’s girlfriend, friends and family, it feels like we have known Jack his whole life and he and Anthony were the best of friends.”
