Two people taken to hospital after Vauxhall Corsa crash in London Way

Two people had to be cut free from a Vauxhall Corsa after a crash in Bamber Bridge last night (February 24).

The Corsa crashed in London Way, towards the Capitol Centre, at 6.45pm.

Police closed London Way towards Preston whilst emergency services attended the scene.

Two fire engines from Bamber Bridge were called out at 7.30pm and crews had to use cutting equipment to rescue two people trapped inside the wrecked car.

The two casualties were then taken to hospital by ambulance.

A spokesman for LFRS said: "Two fire engines from Bamber Bridge were called to a road traffic collision involving one vehicle in London Way, Bamber Bridge.

"Firefighters used cutting equipment to release two casualties who were then transported to hospital."

Lancashire Police declined to comment on the incident, but said the crash was reported to them at 6.45pm.

North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) has been approached for comment.
