Train delays from Preston after signal failure

Trains between Preston and the Oxenholme may be delayed this morning due to a signal failure and line blockages, say Virgin trains.

Travellers hoping to use the service are advised to plan extra time for their journey.

A spokesman for Virgin Trains said: "Due to a fault with the signalling system between Oxenholme Lake District and Preston some North-bound lines are blocked.

"Train services running through these stations may be delayed by up to 25 minutes or started from Preston. Disruption is expected until at least 8am on November 21.

"We are sorry for the delay this will cause to your journey."
