A lane closure on the M61 northbound between junctions 6 (Horwich Interchange) and 8 (Chorley), after Rivington Services, resulted in heavy traffic this morning (February 27).
The closure was due to an earlier collision which occurred at around 7am.
A spokesperson for Highways said: "The M61 northbound BoltonWest/RivingtonServices (Rivington Blackrod) to J8 (Chorley A674 A6).
"One lane has been closed due to a collision.
