Traffic stopped on M65 due to crash near Blackburn

All traffic has reportedly been stopped on the M65 due to a collision near Blackburn.

A crash on the M65 eastbound resulted in all traffic being stopped at around 7.20pm yesterday evening (July 3).

The incident occurred between junctions 3 (Brimmicroft Interchange) and 4 (Earcroft Interchange).

Traffic officers were called to the scene and all lanes were closed.

It is not yet known if anyone was injured in the collision.

A spokesman for Highways England said: The M65 eastbound J3 (Riley Green, Blackburn West) to J4 / Blackburn with Darwen Services (Blackburn South, Bolton, Darwen A666) traffic has been temporarily stopped due to a collision.

"Traffic Officers & Lancashire Road police are currently at the scene."

All lanes reopened around 30 minutes later at approximately 7.50pm.
