Three fire engines were sent to the scene of a collision on the M65 near junction 13 (Reedyford Interchange) at around 9.35pm on Sunday, September 27.

Two vehicles had collided in the crash, leaving three people trapped.

Crews used one hose reel, a small tool kit and lighting equipment to release two of the casualties.

One person was freed prior to firefighters arriving on the scene.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Three fire crews from Nelson and Burnley were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the M65 motorway near to junction 13.

"The incident involved two vehicles and firefighters assisted in extricating two casualties at the scene."

Fire crews were in attendance for approximately thirty minutes.
