Police would now like to speak to the occupants of a Ford – possibly a Ford Focus – who may have stopped at the scene following the collision, but left before police could speak to them.

PC Dean Baxter, of the Lancashire Police TacOps team, said: “We have been working hard to piece together exactly what occurred. We are now led to believe that a black Ford, containing at least two people, may have stopped at the scene to offer assistance following the collision. However, they left before officers could obtain their details.

“We would now like to speak to them to see if they witnessed anything that could help us with our investigation.

“If you know who they may be, or if you think this is you, please get in touch with as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information that could help police should email [email protected] or call 101, quoting log number 1231 of March 13.
