M6 junction blocked in Preston after lorry overturns on Bluebell Way roundabout

A lorry has overturned at a roundabout near Bluebell Way in Preston this afternoon (Friday, August 28).

The lorry overturned at the junctions between Bluebell Way and Longridge Road (B6243) roundabout, near Red Scar Business Park, at around 11.50am.

The lorry has shed it loads across the roundabout, blocking traffic from joining the M6 at junction 31A.

It is currently causing delays on all approaches, with road closures expected to remain in place for some time.

Lancashire Police said the lorry driver has sustained minor injuries.

A police spokesman said: "Due to an overturned HGV at the junction of Bluebell Way and Longridge Road, Preston there is currently severe congestion and road closures are in place.

"Please avoid the area if possible until the vehicle is recovered. Thankfully the driver has only sustained minor injuries."
