Firefighters rescue person from railway tracks at Preston station

Emergency services rescued a person who was on the railway tracks at Preston Railway Station.

Emergency services rushed to Preston Railway Station on Fishergate after receiving a report of a person on the railway tracks at around 7.08am today (April 13).

Two fire engines from Preston and Penwortham attended the incident.

Firefighters rescued the person using a long board and first aid equipment.

The casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Two fire engines from Preston and Penwortham attended Preston Railway Station on Fishergate.

"Firefighters rescued one person from the railway tracks using a long board and first aid equipment. The casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance."

Lancashire Police and North West Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
