A fire broke out onboard a ferry during a crossing from the Isle of Man to Heysham.
Crew found the fire in chimney stack lagging during the 8.45am crossing from Douglas to Heysham today.
Engineers from The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company were able to contain the flames and the vessel continued its course.
No passengers or crew were injured in the incident and there is no significant damage to the ferry, bosses said.
A spokesman for the Steam Packet Company said: “The captain ensured that passengers on board were kept informed throughout the incident.
“All relevant authorities have been informed.”
The vessel is due to dock at Heysham at 1pm this afternoon and it is anticipated that Ben-my-Chree will return as scheduled.
