Two lanes were closed on the M6 following a collision between a lorry and a car towing a trailer, say police.

The accident happened on the southbound carriageway at around 11.30am on August 8 between junctions 31 for the A59 Preston New Road and 31a for the B6242.

Nobody is believed to have been injured in the incident.

Highways England have advised that all lanes have now re-opened.
