A cyclist caught speeding up the hard shoulder of the M65 has been fined by police.
Officers from Lancashire Road Police caught the cyclist pedaling east bound on a mountain bike on Saturday afternoon and handed him a fine.
They also took the opportunity to warn any other would-be hard shoulder cyclists to stay clear.
In a Tweet to their 10,000 followers, they said: “For those not sure, pedal cyclists are not permitted to cycle down the hard shoulder. This rider was taken off the M65 & given a fine.”
The incident happened eastbound on the M65, close to Accrington.
