Crash on M6 forces lane to close and rolling roadblock on M6 near Lancaster

A collision on the M6 southbound resulted in a lane closure near Lancaster.

One lane was closed on the M6 southbound following a collision between junctions 37 (Killington Interchange) and 36 (Tebay Interchange) today (August 6).

Police, fire crews and paramedics were called to the incident - which occurred at around 6.50am.

A rolling roadblock was put in place while emergency services moved the vehicles from lane three.

It has now been confirmed all lanes have reopened.

In a previous statement, a spokesman for Highways England said: "The M6 southbound J37 (Kendal, Sedbergh, A684) to J36 (Skipton, Kirby Lonsdale, A65 Barrow, A590)

"One lane has been closed due to a collision.

"Traffic Officers, Cumbria Roads Police, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service are on their way to the area."

It has been reported the collision involved a car trailer which had overturned.
