Crash forces lane closure on M6 between Leyland and Standish

A crash on the M6 has led to a lane closure between Leyland and Standish this morning (Tuesday, April 28).

The collision happened on the M6 southbound, between junctions 28 (Leyland) and 27 (Standish), at around 8.40am.

Police and Highways officers are at the scene and lane 1 (of 3) has been closed.

The crash reportedly involved two lorries and a car.

The incident is leading to queuing traffic between Leyland and Charnock Richard Services.

Highways said it expects the lane to reopen at around 10am.

It is not known at this stage whether anyone has been injured.

North West Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.

UPDATE: The lane has now reopened and traffic is moving freely.
