Coastguard teams scrambled to reports of 'jet skier in difficulties'

Coastguard teams and an inshore lifeboat were called to reports of a 'jet skier in difficulties' in the River Wyre.

The teams responded to a 999 call at around 1pm on 13 March reporting a person lying alongside a jet ski in the water, says the coastguard.

A spokesman for the coastguard said: "We received a call reporting a jet skier in difficulties in the River Wyre. We launched two coast guard rescue team and an inshore lifeboat. Thankfully, the person self-rescued and was later sighted by our rescue teams."

Nobody was injured during the incident.
