A 5-year-old boy was injured after he was hit by a car in Gamull, Ribbleton, say police.

The incident happened at around 8pm on August 15 when a white Renault Megan hit the boy in Franklands Drive.

A police spokesman said that the suffered minor injuries and had a cut to his lip.

Ambulance Services say a rapid response vehicle was sent to the scene.

The boy was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
