Boy, 10, rushed to hospital following serious car crash in Little Eccleston

A 10-year-old boy was rushed to hospital with abdominal injuries and fractures to his hand and back following a crash in Little Eccleston.

A Hyundai i800 campervan and a Ford Fiesta car collided as they were travelling along Garstang Road at around 3.50pm on Friday (October 2).

A 10-year-old boy, a passenger in the Ford, suffered abdominal injuries and fractures to his hand and back. He was rushed to Manchester Children’s Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Ford, a man in his 70s from Poulton, suffered a suspected broken collarbone, with the driver of the Hyundai, a 51-year-old man from Blackpool, suffering bruising.

The road was closed for four hours while accident investigators attended the scene.

Sgt David Hurst, of Lancashire Police's Tactical Operations, said: "We are appealing to any witnesses who saw the collision to come forward.
