Bikers take to the streets to honour motorcyclist Karl Chester

Dozens of bikers from across Lancashire descended upon the streets of Preston to say a final farewell to local motorcyclist Karl Chester.

Member of city bike clubs Minions Rally Club and Millennium 2000 Bike Club teamed up to honour Karl, 36, who tragically passed away last month after a collision between his silver Aprilia motorbike and a blue Nissan Qashqai on the M62 motorway.

“Karl was a member of the club. He was one of our brothers,” explained the secretary of Minions Rally Club, Alan Breckenridge.

“I knew him for a long time, I worked with him. He was a brilliant guy.

"We’re celebrating his life.”

More than 100 bikers turned up to the Ribble Pilot meeting point at Preston Docks where they set off through Preston before meeting up with the funeral cortege for Karl.

Karl’s widow, Karen, said: “He is my best friend as well as my husband.

“He was more than just a son and a brother he was special. Lets keep them smiles on our faces and party hard.

Secretary of the Millennium 2000 Bike Club, Adam Walton, said: “We are giving him the send off he would be proud of and deserves, it’s what us bikers do when we have a fallen brother, we come together as one big family and pay our respects.

“Karl was an amazing guy, he would of done anything for anyone and was always there when you needed him.

“He was loved by all his club brother at Minions Rally Club and also loved by his extended biker family, myself included. Ride free brother, till we meet again.”
