All lanes reopen on M6 after 'incident' near Preston closes two lanes

Police and ambulance crews rushed to a "police incident" on the M6 southbound at around 4.15pm today (April 20).

The event occurred between junctions 31A (Haighton Interchange) and 31 (Samlesbury Interchange).

Two lanes had been closed, but it has now been confirmed by Highways that all lanes are fully open.

In an earlier announcement, A spokesperson for Highways said: "The M6 southbound J31A (Preston) to J31 (Preston Clitheroe A59).

"Two lanes have been closed due to an incident.

"Traffic Officers and North West Ambulance Service are currently at the scene.".

It is not yet known if anyone has been injured.
