Woman cut free from crashed car

A woman had to be freed free following a rush hour collision.

The accident, involving two cars, happened at around 6.20pm on Garstang Road in Fulwood, close to the junction with Queen’s Drive.

A black Mini and a maroon Skoda were damaged in the accident which closed one side of the road, a main route in and out of Preston.

Fire crews from Preston Fire Station attended the scene and found one woman unable to get out of her car.

Firefighter used hydraulic cutting equipment to open the door and the driver was able to walk out of the vehicle.

She was checked over by paramedics at the scene and taken to Royal Preston Hospital.
