Two injured after crash at busy South Ribble junction

A driver and passenger suffered injuries after their car crashed into a wall at a busy South Ribble junction.

Police, fire and ambulance services were called to the scene on Preston Road (A6) near to the junctions of the M65 and M61, at around 6.15am on Wednesday, July 11.

Fire services say they cut the roof off the car to access a man and a woman who were trapped in the car.

Police say the man, who is thought to be 19 years-old was taken to hospital suffering with a leg injury.

A police spokesman said: "We have attended a one vehicle crash where a car coming off the motorway crashed into a wall.

"At present, traffic is able to pass the scene, although we would ask drivers to approach with caution."

Drivers are reporting delays around the area.
