Tree on track disrupts trains from Preston

Services were stopped between Preston to Bolton while the tree was removed.

Lines have now re-opened although services may still be delayed or cancelled while they return to normal.

Trains are running normally from Bolton to Preston.

This disruption is expected to continue until approximately 9.30am.

Routes affected include Blackpool North and Hazel Grove / Manchester Oxford Road / Manchester Victoria / Manchester Airport, Preston and Huddersfield / Manchester Victoria, and also between Barrow-in-Furness and Manchester Airport / Manchester Oxford Road.

Rail replacement buses are being arranged to run between Preston and Bolton.

Passengers travelling from Preston towards Bolton / Manchester, are advised to travel via Blackburn.

Train users are advised to check before they travel.
