Trapped motorists rescued from car crash in Morecambe

Firefighters had to take off the roof of a car to rescue two people trapped inside after a crash in Morecambe.

The casualties were then taken to hospital by paramedics.

Two fire engines from Morecambe and Bolton-le-Sands attended the collision which involved two cars yesterday in Westminister Road just after 4pm.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found that two people were trapped in one of the vehicles.

They used specialist equipment to remove the roof and release the casualties from the vehicle.
