Pedestrian in serious crash in Preston

A female pedestrian is in a serious but stable condition after a crash with a motorist in Preston today.

Part of the A59 Ringway, near Preston Combined Court Centre, where the collision took place was closed for two and a half hours.

Police and paramedics attended the scene this afternoon.

A spokesman for Lancashire Constabulary said: “We got a call just after 1pm to a serious crash where a pedestrian was involved in a collision with a car on Ringway.

“The female pedestrian was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.”

Ringway was reopened for vehicles at around 3.30pm.

A bystander at the scene told the Post that officers could be seen taking measurements on the road using a trundle wheel.
