A spokesperson for Highways England said: "There was a broken down vehicle between junctions 28 and 29 northbound at around 12.30pm, but that’s been moved to the hard shoulder."

They said the current delays are "down to the volume of traffic for the Friday getaway."

According to Traffic England, there is a 20 minute delay against expected travel times.
