Crews from Chorley, Leyland, Bamber Bridge and Wigan were notified of the emergency on Bannister Green via a 999 call at around 9pm last night.

A spokesman for Lancashire fire services said: "Five fire engines attended a fire involving a commercial property in Heskin.

"Firefighters used six breathing apparatus, two hose reels and three jets to extinguish the fire in the three storey building measuring 15 x 25 metres."

Firefighters left the scene of the blaze at around 7am this morning.

No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
