Delays after accident on busy Preston road

Delays are being reported around Preston and traffic is tailing back onto M6 following a crash and a bus breakdown.

The accident and the bus breakdown happened on Eastway, on either side of the roundabout during rush hour on July 17.

Eastway is described as partially blocked with tailbacks and gridlock reported throughout the area.

A spokesman for Preston Police said in a post to Twitter: "Please if not already aware there is a broken down Bus on Eastway, Preston between Watling St Road and the roundabout for Andertons Way.

"This is causing heavy congestion in the area but recovery is on its way and normality will resume soon."

The bus was recovered at around 11.30am.
