The Blossoms cancel Preston gigs 'as a result of Storm Ciara'

Chart-topping indie rock band The Blossoms have postponed their Preston gigs tonight because of safety concerns.

The Stockport rock outfit were scheduled to play two gigs at The Blitz in the city centre tonight.

But they announced on Twitter this afternoon that both shows had been postponed because of safety concerns following Storm Ciara.

The band wrote: "Due to safety reasons, as a result of the storm, unfortunately we are going to have postpone today’s two Preston gigs. Apologies for the short notice but we will reschedule the gigs as soon as possible. Stay safe x."

The band were due to play two, 45-minute sets featuring songs from their new album, Foolish Loving Space.

Both gigs were sold out.

Rearranged dates have yet to be announced.
