Trackies and tops for Anthony's funeral

The funeral date for a tragic 21-year-old has been announced.

Anthony Kellett of New Rough Hey, Ingol, died on Saturday at the Royal Preston Hospital, having been struck down with pneumonia.

His dad Robert, 46, said the funeral will take place on Friday, September 2, at Preston Crematorium.

Mourners are advised that funeral cars will leave the family home at 10.30am, arriving for the service at 11.15am.

Robert said: “Anybody who knew Anthony is welcome to come along, the more people to celebrate his life, the better.”

He asked for mourners to wear tracksuit bottoms, England football tops, Preston North End tops, and Manchester United shirts.

Anthony had battled health problems all his life, suffering from leukaemia as a child.

Last week, knowing his health was declining rapidly, Robert issued an appeal for his son’s mum - last known as Nicola Smith - to visit him. But the appeal went unanswered and Anthony died without the reunion.
