Staff from L&M Healthcare, who run the state-of-the-art home in Deepdale, were presented with the prize for ‘Best Use of Communal Space’ for their community library and were highly commended for ‘Best Architecture and Interior Design’ at the Care Home Awards 2017 held at The Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London.

Managing director Jeanne Davies said: “We are delighted that all the hard work that the team has put into Finney House has been recognised and celebrated in this way.”

The awards ceremony was a glamorous affair, awards were presented by voiceover star Alan Didicot, with guests entertained by the lovely Sugar Sisters, and served with lunch and a champagne reception.

Jeanne added it was a well earned treat for a ‘very hard working team who are dedicated to the care of older people in the Preston area.’

The care home opened in Autumn last year with the promise of offering residents a five-star hotel than a traditional nursing home experience.

Finney House is named in memory of Preston and national sporting hero Sir Tom Finney and in August 2017 will be opening specialist dementia facilities (subject to CQC registration)
