Three of Lancashire’s top chefs are coming together to showcase their culinary talents at a special event in Preston next month.
A one-of-a-kind cooking demonstration will take place at the Guild Hall to raise money for charity, with three Michelin Star chefs and a Rosette Holder taking to the stage to show off their skills.
Mark Birchall, who grew up in Adlington, Chorley, has worked at celebrity chef Simon Rogan’s restaurant, L’Enclume in Cartmel, and is now set to open his own eatery in Aughton, near Ormskirk.
Steve Smith, from Blackburn, is the chef-proprietor of the Freemasons at Wiswell near Clitheroe, which has been awarded the top spot in the pubs category of the Good Food Guide 2016, for the second consecutive year.
And Lisa Allen, executive chef of Northcote Manor in Langho, rose to fame when she beat stiff competition and won the BBC series, Great British Menu.
The Mayor of Preston, Coun Margaret McManus, will welcome the talented trio on October 19, for the ‘Cookery Demo’ event in aid of one of her chosen charities, Heartbeat. She said: “This is our first event for the charity, and with a line-up like this, it should prove to be a fantastic evening.”
Money raised from the event will go towards the ongoing work provided to local people that require heart rehabilitation by providing an exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation programme, and those recovering from heart attack, surgery or stroke, as well as supporting those at risk of developing these conditions.
Tickets for the event, which starts at 7pm and is sponsored by Wellocks and CHR food services equipment, are £15.
