NINETY per cent of the tickets for Preston’s free party have now been snapped up.

Nearly 5,000 people will descend on Preston’s historical Flag Market, beneath the grandeur of the Harris Museum, on Saturday January 30.

Celebrity DJs MistaJam and Craig Charles will entertain guests in a two-hour live set at the Purple Party.

Preston’s Business Improvement District (BID) organises Prestfest annually to celebrate the city’s Purple Flag Accreditation, a standard given to destinations that have a safe, vibrant and inclusive night time economy.

BID manager, Mark Whittle, said: “We’ve been monitoring applications for tickets and while many, as you would expect, are from across Lancashire, there are people travelling from all across the country, most notably, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Birmingham and even London.

“We’re encouraging people to come to Preston, grab a bite to eat, enjoy the Purple Party and continue their night out once the gig has ended; they will be assured of a great time and a warm welcome.”

Guests attending the free event will be able to enjoy a warm up from one of Preston’s favourite DJs, Nick Carter, as well as other entertainment before the big event.

Only 10 per cent of tickets are left. If you’re over 18, free tickets are available from or
