Three peaks challenge to support ADS Bridge House

Anthony Fisher will climb up Ben Nevis, Mount Snowdon and Scafell Pike between June 15 and 18 to raise funds for ADS (Addiction Dependency Solutions) Bridge House rehabilitation centre, in St Luke’s House Preston, which serves men and women over the age of 18 whose lives have been severely affected by drug and/or alcohol dependency.

The 43-year-old who is a rehabilitation project worker at the centre, said: “At Bridge House our residence recovery is paramount and I am looking to raise funds in order to acquire more updated furniture and equipment for residence rooms and recreational areas.

“We are in need of computer equipment and recreational equipment for our art room and more updated and modern furniture for residence rooms and areas of the centre used for relaxation.

“Funding is very tight and fund-raising has in the past played a key role for keeping the centre up to date.

“Renovations will help residents feel more comfortable and give a new angle to our therapeutic approach. This has a great effect on the self-esteem and stability required by an individual to make constructive changes to their lives. As a consequence, any fund-raising will allow more people to make lasting and meaningful changes to their lives, therefore helping individuals, families and communities.”

As an ex-servicemen, serving in the Queen’s Lancashire Regiment, the father-of-one is prepared for the challenge.

He added: “The walk across three of the UK’s highest mountains amounts to a gruelling 26 miles total horizontal distance and 3,000m (9,843ft) of vertical ascent.

“I aim to complete this over a minimum of four days with driving to locations included.”
