Three arrested after crossbow incident in Carnforth

Three people were arrested and one man suffered minor injuries after an incident with a crossbow in Carnforth on Wednesday night.

Police were called to Dunkirk Avenue at around 6.45pm after reports a man had been injured with the weapon.

Part of the street was cordoned off with a police helicopter also seen circling the scene.

Two men and a woman from the town have now been arrested.

In a statement, Lancashire Police said: “Officers attended the address and found a man with a minor injury to his head. He was treated by paramedics at the scene.

“The weapon was recovered by police shortly afterwards following a search by local and specialist resources.

“Officers are satisfied this was an isolated incident and there is no on-going risk to the community.”
