Her Majesty The Queen is expected to visit Lancaster for the first time in 16 years.
The Royal website states Her Majesty will visit The Duchy of Lancaster – an estate that covers vast tracts of land, including Lancaster Castle and parts of the Trough of Bowland – on May 29.
Other areas of land owned by The Duchy include the Myerscough Estate, the Wyreside Estate and the Whitewell Estate.
It has not yet been confirmed exactly where she will visit, but an eagle-eyed resident spotted a Bentley car, thought to be the Bentley State Limousine, driving up the cobbles of Lancaster Castle –in front of the John o’ Gaunt gate.
Buckingam Palace has confirmed that The Queen – who also holds the title of Duke of Lancaster – is expected to visit Lancaster Castle, although details will be kept under wraps until nearer the event.
