The Park School Centenary Reunion

The Park School centenary reunion will be held at the Barton Grange hotel on October 19 at 6.30pm. There will be a chruch service at the Minster on October 20 at 10.30am.

We have a full house. There are now 416 old girls attending from local area and all over the country, Isle of Wight, France, Canada and America.

We have taken over the whole of Barton Grange Hotel. We are having a DVD made of the evening. The response has been great and it is not a night to be missed.

There are up to now 435 old girls, husbands, partners and friends attending the church service including the Mayor.

The Park School was an important girls grammar school in Preston and was well know with an excellent reputation.

Founded in 1907 The Park School was one of the pioneers of grammar schools for girls in England during the first half of the 20th century.

The Park School reaches its Centenary in 2007, and this event will be commemorated by former pupils and members of staff, who will collectively, have memories of the school from most decades of its existence.

The fact that we have 416 old girls attending the dinner at Barton Grange on Friday 19th Oct and 435 up to now at the church, thirty eight years after the school closed, is testament to the high esteem in which the school is still held by so many.
