A school girl has donated her first wage as part of her bid to become Junior Miss Preston.

Sophie Massie, 14, from Walton-le-Dale, has taken on a part time job at Rascals Party and Play Centre, in Preston, and gave her first pay packet to Variety children’s charity, which supports sick, disabled and disadvantaged children.

She will also do a sponsored cycle along the 21-mile Guild Wheel and will also hold a raffle.

Sophie, a Brownedge St Mary’s High School pupil, said: “I feel privileged to have been scouted for Junior Miss Preston 2017. I look forward to all the exciting opportunities this competition has to offer.”

Mum Leanne said: “We are very proud of our daughter Sophie. If anyone can do this, it is her. She has the full support of family and friends.”
