A takeaway delivery driver has been attacked and robbed in a “frightening ordeal”.

The victim, a 38 year old man, had just made a delivery at an address on Elizabeth Street when he was approached from behind by two men.

One of the men demanded money and food from the victim, punching him and knocking him to the floor.

He made further demands for money before the victim handed over the takings.

Both men then fled from the scene, after the incident at about 8pm on January 26.

The first man is described as Afro-Caribbean, around 25 years old, approximately 6ft tall, of medium build with stubble.

He was wearing a dark jacket with blue trainers.

DC Paul Taylor from Preston CID said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the victim who was attacked while he was simply going about his job.

“I would urge anyone with any information at all about this to get in touch with us.”
