A support group for children with autism is holding a bowlathon to raise funds.

Rainbow Autism Support Group’s event, which will raise money for the organisation and the SPACE Centre, will coincide with World Autism Awareness Day.

The group supports parents and carers who have children aged two to 12 years with autism, Asperger Syndrome, and dyspraxia.

They hold regular monthly meetings at Mini Magees Play Centre on Lodge Street, Ashton, on the first Wednesday of each month from 6pm to 7.30pm.

The bowlathon is on Saturday, March 30, at Lakeside SuperBowl, on Green Bank Street, Preston.

Half of what is raised on the night will be donated to the SPACE Centre appeal.

Last year they held a trampolining event to mark the day. The group are also appealing for members of the public to donate raffle prizes.

Anyone with prizes they wish to donate can go to the next Rainbow meeting on Wednesday, March 6, or go to Lakeside Bowling on the day of the event between 10am and midday. Alternatively, email
