Penwortham based charity, Galloway’s Society for the Blind were last week delighted to receive a cheque for over £2,500 from last year’s Mayor of Penwortham, Coun Rosemary Robinson.

Coun Robinson, whose Mayoral year has just some to an end, took part in various fundraising activities throughout 2013 which included a large free Firework display, quiz nights and a concert with the famous Leyland Band.

Emma Russ, Senior Fundraiser at Galloway’s, said: “It’s been a real pleasure to work with Coun Robinson and Penwortham Town Council throughout the last year. We’d like to thank her for all of her efforts to support us, she has raised an absolutely fantastic amount.”

Galloway’s Society for the Blind are currently looking for people to take part in their annual Morecambe Bay Walk on June 21 and 22.
