A local supermarket is calling on the community to help choose its next good cause.
ASDA, Clayton Green has seen a recent decline in nomination for their Chosen By You...Given by Us donation scheme in which customers nominate then vote for three local not for profit organisations to receive a tiered donation every two months.
A spokesman said: “Since Community Life launched back in 2012 we have supported 33 local good causes through our ‘Chosen by you…given by us’ initiative.
“We know there are more good causes in our local community but we need you to nominate them either in store on our Community Board or visit our store locator page online.
“This initiative puts the power in the hands of our Customers and Community.
Customers will vote for a two month period using tokens from our checkouts for the charity or good cause they would like to win.
The winner will receive a donation of £200 and the other two will receive a £50 each through a financial donation funded by the Asda Foundation.
Previous winners of the Chosen By You...Given By Us scheme at Clayton Green include Chorley foodband, L W Storehouse who were awarded £200, and Clayton Brook Community House and Home-Start Chorley & South Ribble who were both awarded £50.
