Dozens of students from the Harry Potter Society of the University of Central Lancashire turned out to pay tribute to Alan Rickman.
About 30 people gathered to say farewell to the much-loved actor, who played Severus Snape, by recreating a scene from the films.
Society chairman James Hofstetter, 19, said: “It really did go really well.
“Even though it was bad weather with snow, ice and cold, they all still turned out.
“We had candles, we all read something, we had music composed by a member of the committee, based on a piece of music from the movies.
“It was something special and everyone had a good time.
“While it was sad, we were also remembering him and everybody enjoyed the fact that we were sharing in some things he had done in his life.”
