A professional storyteller will bring a First World War tale to life when he visits Chorley Library.
Actor John Kirk will present a reinterpretation of Private Peaceful, written by former children’s laureate Michael Morpurgo, which follows two brothers from a small village to the battlefields.
Librarian Elizabeth Russ said: “Many children are currently studying the Great War at school and this is a fantastic opportunity to come along to the library and experience a production that really brings history to life.
“John has been touring schools and libraries across the country with this event and has been receiving fantastic reviews.”
It starts at 7pm on Friday, October 31, and is suitable for children aged nine and over.
Tickets are free, available from the library or by phoning 0300 123 6703.
