There is still time to dust off your trainers and sign up for the St Catherine’s Hospice Moonlight and Memories Walk.
The hospice is encouraging supporters to sign up for their extra special 30th anniversary walk and help hit its target of 1,000 participants.
It is a very special event for St Catherine’s which offers people a way to remember their loved ones, whilst doing something so positive and worthwhile for a local charity.
The hospice’s Give a Gift campaign highlights 30 different ways individuals, schools, businesses and clubs can show their support for the charity during 2015 and includes having 1,000 people taking part in the Moonlight and Memories Walk on Saturday June 6.
There are currently around 700 people registered for the event, sponsored by Redrow Homes, which starts and finishes at the hospice in Lostock Hall with two routes available - a 16-mile route and an eight mile one.
Walkers will. wear purple T-shirts which can be decorated with pictures and memories of the people their wearers are remembering.
Lynne Whittaker, senior fundraiser at St Catherine’s Hospice, said: “ We’re excitedly looking forward to the event and hope many more people will be inspired to sign up and show their support.
“This year’s T-shirts look fantastic and we’ve already had lots of compliments from walkers when they have picked them up.
