There will be a host of family fun at Preston Market on Wednesday to mark St George’s Day.

The market will be decorated and there will be a live band as part of the celebrations.

The two-piece band from Yorkshire called The Moot has performed at multiple markets including Wakefield, Huddersfield and Dewsbury.

They will be performing from the balcony at Preston Market. The band consists of Clare, who plays the electric guitar, and Eryl on the Djembe Hand Drum.

They also have two full-time sound engineer’s-cum-roadies called Lucy the Dalmatian and Dobby the Staffordshire Bull Terrier who accompany the band at most gigs.

Preston Council Market Manager Dave Bullock said: “There will be balloons, glasses and bunting throughout the market.

“The Moot are a really good two-piece band, who generally bring extra percussion instruments so that the audience can join in. So will be a great day to visit Preston Market.”

The Moot plays live family friendly music, they are currently working with councils to provide music for markets and events.

In 2013 The Moot played at markets and weddings dressed as Pirates, Beetlejuice, Zombie Response Team & Santa & His Reindeer.

They played their first gig in Huddersfield in October 2005 at the Rock Cafe and since then have played over 150 gigs.
