Spreading a bit of fairy magic for charity
Snow White, Cinderella and Captain America will be leading a family fun day this weekend.
Fairydust Events, a non-profit organisation, is hosting the event at Greenlands Social Club, in Chatburn Road, Preston, on Sunday June 19, in aid of Lagans Foundation, which offers home respite and support issues for young children with heart defects or feeding issues, and Preston Neonatal Unit.A host of special guests will be around for photo opportunities, including Elsa from Frozen, Ariel, Snow White, and Captain America, plus Star Wars favourites Commander Gree, Kylo Ren and Jedi Master / Xwing Pilot.The entertainment doesn’t stop there as youngsters can have fun on the trampoline park, funfair rides, hook-a-duck, a penalty shoot-out and inflatable slides. Inside there will be a variety of art and craft stalls, a DJ and karaoke.VIP guests Miss Lancashire and Miss Preston will officially open the event at 11am.Children are invited to dress up as their favourite princess or superhero, with a prize for the best dressed.Entry is free.Sarah Williams, event organiser, said: “This promises to be a fun packed day for all including an inflatable slide, hook a duck, a children’s ride, VIP guests and more than 15 art and craft stalls, with everything from handmade gifts to craft tables for the younger guests.“We also have face-painting, glitter tattoos and Sand Art for the children. In the main function room will be our wonderful stalls and DJ with karaoke for the singing guests who fancy giving it a whirl.“We want children to come along as their favourite superhero or princess and they could win a prize, so dress to impress. All money goes towards Lagans Foundation and Preston Neonatal Unit.“Our sole aim is to help these fantastic causes with fund-raising and awareness.”
