Shoppers in Preston enjoyed pop up performances by Spectrum Association Carnival Dance Troupe as they raised funds for trips and costumes.

The dancers, who also did a sponsored 5k walk, collected £100 on the day, and are expecting to a further £200 in sponsorship, which will go towards funding outfits and travel to attend Preston Caribbean Carnival on June 10.

Lisa Hopkins, troupe leader, who has taken over from founder Phillip Duncan, said: “The dancers were fantastic. They love doing carnivals, so we are thrilled with the money raised.”

Spectrum Carnival rehearses at Wilbraham Club, in Preston Monday nights, 5pm until 7pm.
