This Red Nose Day, a high street favourite in Preston has received a spec-tacular makeover – in the form of giant waving glasses.
The iconic Specsavers logo in Preston has gone all googly-eyed with giant replicas of the fund-raising Red Nose Day glasses installed on its storefront.
Human-sized Red Nose Day glasses – in adult and children’s sizes – are available in Specsavers stores nationwide and cost £2, with all money raised going to Comic Relief.
From Sunday, 19 March, up until Comic Relief night on Friday, 24 March, the store will be hosting a variety of action-packed fund-raising events.
Christopher Shore, retail store director at Specsavers in Preston, said: “Our giant Red Nose Day specs look brilliant - they have totally transformed our store and we’ve had a great reaction from passers-by.
“We are encouraging everyone who buys a pair of the real Red Nose Day glasses to also join in on a giant Mexican wave on social media as well. Simply strike a pose with your specs and post with the #GiveUsAWave to receive your very own wave back.
“From fancy dress in our silliest red costumes, to cooking up a tasty bake sale and a prize-packed tombola, we’re going all out to raise a laugh and money for Comic Relief this year. We’ve also got a few more entertaining surprises up our sleeves so do come and join us.’
Specsavers in Preston has joined Specsavers stores nationwide to support Comic Relief by pledging to raise at least £250,000 this Red Nose Day to help change countless lives in the UK and across Africa.
Specsavers has been a Red Nose Day partner since 2015.
