Promoters Cuffe and Taylor, who had to call off the performance becaused torrential rain left the ground unsafe, have promised a full refund and a discount of more than 50 per cent on admission to his concert at Betley in Cheshire on Friday August 12.

“We were gutted to have had to cancel Will Young’s gig at Hoghton Tower – thousands of his fans had been looking forward to what promised to be a wonderful night,” said Cuffe and Taylor director Peter Taylor.

“We feel for all Will’s adoring fans and so, to help them get to see him live this summer, we have decided to slash the price of tickets for Will’s performance at Betley Concerts to £17 – a saving of more than 50 per cent.

“The Cheshire festival is just down the M6 and we hope as many fans who were due to see Will in Lancashire take advantage of this special discounted price and make the short trip to Betley.

“We also have Bryan Adams, Simply Red and the Total Access Live events at Betley so it should be a great weekend.”

Two of the three concerts planned for the annual Symphony at the Tower event at Hoghton had to be cancelled, leaving fund-raisers for St Catherine’s Hospice devastated.
