KIND-HEARTED slimmers have avoided temptation by donating chocolate eggs to their local food bank.
Members of the Slimming World group which meets at St Teresa’s Church Hall in Penwortham, near Preston, each week rallied round after a plea by group leader Libby Brindle to help provide a treat for families in need at Easter.
Libby said: “Between us we donated 78 chocolate eggs to the local food bank.
“It wasn’t to stop us eating chocolate but to do something for the community.
“I was astounded by the generosity of our members, who with just 48 hours notice rallied round to do something amazing for the local community.”
Around 100 members weigh in at the Saturday morning meetings each week.
Libby added: “ We took a trolley load of eggs to Booths where they have all been taken and they will be distributed from there.”
